About us

- Archives Guédras
The “Guédras Archives” were established by Annie Guédras, who devoted her career to the graphic and visual oeuvre of Jean Cocteau. From the 1970s, she trained under Édouard Dermit, the Poet’s adopted son and heir.
She also worked closely with Lucie Weill at her gallery Au Pont des Arts, rue Bonaparte — the Paris gallery associated with Jean Cocteau.
Through this important gallery, Annie Guédras met many of Jean Cocteau’s friends and collaborators from across the arts.
Édouard Dermit, who welcomed her into his home in Milly-la-Forêt, entrusted her with compiling an inventory of the Poet’s many works and documents. He also asked her to organize national and international exhibitions. Annie Guédras became administrative and cultural director of the Jean Cocteau Travelling Museum, through which she curated exhibitions and tributes to Cocteau around the world.
From 1995, following Dermit’s passing, until 2025, she dedicated herself entirely to the authentication and expertise of Cocteau’s oeuvre.
A Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, Annie Guédras is the author of reference works and prefaces on Jean Cocteau’s art, including: :
• « Poteries » – Catalogue raisonné of Jean Cocteau’s ceramics, Éditions Teillet-Dermit, 1989
• « Ils » – Erotic Drawings, Éditions le Pré-aux-Clerc, 1998 and Éditions Hors Collection, 2009

The “Guédras Archives” bring together nearly fifty years of documentation, offering an ever-deeper understanding of the Poet’s graphic and visual oeuvre..
- Dominique Bert
Member of the French Union of Experts (UFE) and the European Chamber of Art Experts (CEEA), Dominique Bert has long been involved with Jean Cocteau’s oeuvre, curating several exhibitions with catalogues in his Paris gallery.
